GHT: "Deadly Premonition is a very obscure game (which I only briefly touched on in my Top 10 Horror Games article, thus why I bring it up again). Although this is a little less true since the Directors Cut revival a couple of years ago. It is the furthest thing from mainstream, so if youre triple A, all the way, its not for you in all likelihood. If Twin Peaks is something youre familiar with, now were talking. The game was actually reworked, from what I understand, to distance itself further from Twin Peaks than it originally was intended to be. Upon seeing certain things in the game, youll wonder how it couldve been significantly closer without being accused of plagiarism. Prior to its new and improved version, I wouldnt argue that the game had many flaws, many of which were gameplay related. While its still not pretty to look at, thats not the point of Deadly Premonition. What is the point? My best guess is to tell a weird story that keeps everyone engaged."
