For any child of the 80s, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon represents a gloriously silly yet eminently playable tribute to those iconic, nuance-free cinematic blasters. A single-player only standalone spin-off to Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon trades the scope of last years title for an OCP building full of 80s sci-fi, action cinema and pop culture references, producing a final result which entertains and satisfies in equal measure. Simply put, Blood Dragon is gaming pleasure at its most base; a brute force exercise in catharsis that strips away the boundaries and restraints of traditional fare in favour of a balls-to-the-wall approach distilling the essence of Far Cry 3s generous sandbox into a smaller, infinitely more chaotic and ridiculous experience.
