In most cases, these games are thoughtfully introduced games like Tomb Raider to the modern era of gaming. Eidos Montreal tackled one of these projects successfully with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Sure, some of the Deus Ex flavor was lost during translation, but it delivered enough of its own to substantiate itself.
