Posted by Mick Fraser Last year I was introduced to the long-standing Atelier series with Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist of Dusk and, despite the aesthetic beauty and deliberately sedate pace, I found it hard to connect with the world and characters perhaps because of my more Western tastes, or perhaps because I was so late to the party. Hugely successful in Japan and popular with a select audience elsewhere, the series focuses primarily on material gathering and the art of alchemy rather than combat and exploration.
