Ed from Twinfinite writes: All of the hype surrounding Destiny's release has been a double edged sword as the game has been under intense scrutiny for not living up to lofty expectations despite being a commercial success. Namely, aspects such as repetitive gameplay and a thin story has been criticized heavily. However once you realize that Destiny is more closely related to games such as Diablo, Phantasy Star Online, and Final Fantasy XIV than Bungie's own Halo, it's clear that much of what people don't like about Destiny are actually just common traits of MMO games.
