It appears that DICE has been approached by Sony and/or Microsoft in regards to supporting motion controls for the next generation, to which it replied with an exuberant hell no.
DICE Executive Producer Patrick Bach told Edge the following about Battlefield 4:
We are not interested in things that donÄ‚Ë€â„Ët make the game better. There are a lot of gimmicks - people throwing money at us - Ä‚Ë€ÂÂcan you implement support for this quirky control thingÄ‚Ë€â„Ë. No, it doesnÄ‚Ë€â„Ët make the game better.
He added:
We are extremely open to innovation, but if itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës a gimmick, thereÄ‚Ë€â„Ës no point unless it adds value to the player.
It appears that Battlefield 4 will only incorporate new features that offer a positive and valuable addition to the player experience; it's concerning how surprising that is to hear, not because Battlefield has a history of trying too hard, but because most other games have.
