The game was known to be in trouble back in April after Persson revealed "creative block" was holding back development. Speaking on a Team Fortress 2 livestream Persson has now confirmed that the project has been officially shelved.

A group of fans are, however, hoping to revive the game through Project Trillek, led by Shane Dalton.

"We just sort of looked at the project and were like, 'Okay. This is a community project now.' We're not using any of his old code, his name or anything," Dalton told USGamer.
