Has overtaken Street Fighter 2, with sales of 6.5 million units.

News: Resident Evil 5 is now Capcom's biggest-selling game news

Resident Evil 5 has now sold 6.5 million copies since its release in 2009.

Third in line is the hugely disappointing Resident Evil 6 which has some how blundered its way to 5.2 copies sold since its release in 2012.

It's worth pointing out that Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES has also sold an impressive 4.1 million copies, and given its release a year after the original would have cannibalised sales.
