News: New Resident Evil movie yet to get going, says Anderson

"Wheels aren't quite in motion," says the franchise writer and director.

Speaking in an interview promoting his upcoming disaster pic Pompeii, Anderson was quizzed on the status of the next Resident Evil movie.

"We'd like to do another Resident Evil movie. Definitely," explained Anderson. "But the wheels aren't quite in motion yet."

This makes sense given that Anderson has only recently finished working on Pompeii.

However, Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper confirmed to Collider that a new Resident Evil movie is a priority and it's merely a case of waiting for Anderson to be ready for the project.
