Gearbox's Steve Gibson commented that the developer is spending "an irresponsible amount" on the model ship.

According to a Collector's Edition Survey posted by Gearbox which allowed fans to vote for the Mothership replica they wanted, the chosen model's specs are:

12", hand decorated, molded ABS resin Mothership with LED lights. Includes stand and USB/AC power cable.

The CE which includes the 12" replica will carry a $100 price tag.
