News: PS4 likely to exceed profits earned by PS2, says Sony news

Speaking during a corporate strategy meeting yesterday – reported by Japanese publication Impress Watch and translated by Eurogamer - Kaz Hirai, president and CEO of Sony Corporation, is quoted as saying: "It is likely that PS4 will become the platform which exceeds the profits earned with PS2".

It's a bold claim given the PS2 is the most successful console of all time with 155 million units sold worldwide. Sony expects to sell 17 million combined PS4 and PS3 units in the year ending March 31, 2015.
