HSR's Tom Acres writes: Bearing in mind that Im by no means a fighting game aficionado, I came away from 2011s Mortal Kombat feeling extremely impressed. The action was balanced in a way that allowed even a complete freshman like myself ample opportunity to rip some heads off and break more than a few limbs, but I was never left in any doubt as to its depth whenever I stepped into online competition and was promptly made to cry like a small child. It certainly didnt hurt that it harboured stunning presentation and gloriously ridiculous violence, and its abundance of modes and characters meant that it had real staying power as a source of entertainment whenever friends were over. Heck, even the story mode was pretty fantastic; how often can you say that of a fighting game? Fast forward to 2015 and Mortal Kombat X is far more iterative in what it offers, but its still an excellent addition to the series and a great option for those looking for a fighter on their current g...
