Coming from Europe, we didnt really have the chance to play the earlier games in the series because they were only release in Japan and North America. But I didnt miss what I didnt have. So I just played other games without realising much about this series. There was no internet back then. And I (like many others) relied on magazines like Gamesmaster to give us our gaming news. Final Fantasy didnt really feature because what would be the point? They didnt release the games here. But then around 1996 and early 1997 things changed. All the magazines started to talk about was Final Fantasy VII. I remember being intrigued. But yet confused! What about 1-6 ? But the hype was really and started to take over me over.
