So this is what happens when Hideo Kojima creates his own Swansong. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the successor to Prologue Ground Zeroes, taking place nine years after Motherbase is destroyed by a group of generally ugly/crazy gentlemen. TPP is a lot different to every other MGS game ever made though. NPU have played every game in the series, including the PSP titles, and can very boldly state, this is not like the rest. The few core control mechanics are there, hell the cardboard box is still here, but TPP is most definitely a whole new world as far as Snake is concerned. This pushes the boundaries, past invisible walls and a largely linear set of game areas, and drops you into Afghanistan, where the ten square kilometres are your oyster.
