When you hear roguelike, you may think of other titles like Rogue Legacy that still offered a one life/one attempt system, but offered permanent upgrades to make subsequent playthroughs easier by boosting your base abilities. Ascendant does not have that. When you die, youre dead, and you completely start over from nothing again on the next attempt."
