Rogue Legacy is a platformer and a Roguelike rolled into one. The aim of the game is simple: Defeat the four guardians of Castle Hamson to ultimately beat the final boss. Going about this is, of course, not as easy as it sounds. Each guardian has staked a claim on a particular wing of the castle, and with each of the wings come new enemies and challenges. With each run-through, you can pick from three descendants of a previous hero, each with their own class (such as Archmage, Assassin, and Paladin) complete with randomly assigned genetic traits, like Dwarfism, which makes you tiny and able to slip into secret paths, or Nostalgia, which puts the entire game into sepia-tone. Some traits are more advantageous than others, but which ones you can choose from on a given run comes down to pure luck. Theres also a story about a prince trying to save his father, but this really isnt a game you play for the story.
