The International hits 1 million concurrent viewers

Peak online concurrent viewership for Dota 2 Championships eclipses 1 million from streams on Twitch, Gamefy, and Valve's own services.

Valve's The International 2013 Dota 2 Championships doubled last year's record viewership and peaked at a simultaneous online viewership of over 1 million gamers, Valve announced today.

The 1 million peak simultaneous figure is made up of those who watched through Twitch, Gamefy in China, and Valve's own services. It does not include viewers who watched through international broadcasts or other means.

The International 3 came roughly of tying the all-time eSports record set by Riot's League Championship Series Season 2 finals with 1.1 million.

Competitive gaming team Alliance from Sweden after finishing first place in this year's tournament.

The International 3 event on August 3, with 16 of the best Dota 2 teams flown in from around the world to compete. The event was hosted at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington.
