Nvidia Shield launching in June for $350

Android-powered portable gaming system given price, release window; Double Fine's Kickstarter game will be available.

Nvidia's Project Shield--now known as Nvidia Shield--will launch by the end of June for $350, the company announced today. It will will be available through Nvidia's website, as well as at Newegg, GameStop, Micro Center, and Canada Computers.

Fans who signed up to received Shield update can , while reservations will open to the general public through the company's website on May 20.

Along with news of price and release date, Nvidia announced a handful of games coming to the Shield. Double Fine is supporting the platform with two titles: its Kickstarter-funded .

Other titles coming to Nvidia Shield include from Niffler.

The Nvidia Shield gives gamers access to an array of gaming avenues, including Nvidia TegraZone, Google Play, and Steam. The system runs on the Tegra 4 processor and boasts 16GB of memory, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, a mini-HDMI output, a microSD storage slot, and a headphone jack.
