Essentially, Guacamelee! is what happens when you cross gorgeous Mexican Dia de los Muertos themes with an art style inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky (the artist behind excellent cartoons like Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory), and then add a liberal splash of internet humour. It's all sugar skulls, confetti-filled Pi#241;atas, and characters that throw around gaming references like they've just stepped off the front page of Reddit.
