Strings attached: the problem with gaming's love interests

Last week, I watched Disney/Pixar's Brave with a female friend of mine. I thought it was alright; I enjoyed the unusual focus on a mother/daughter relationship but felt it lacked the intelligence, heart and humour of Pixar's better films like Up and Wall-E. As soon as the credits started rolling, however, my friend turned to me and expressed her disappointment over the fact that this is the only Disney film not to feature a love story; something that, until she mentioned it, I hadn't even noticed.
