Gamespot: With $11 billion in total lifetime revenue, the Call of Duty franchise is one of the biggest in all of gaming. But how many copies of the series have been sold to date? Activision clued us in today, announcing via a new infographic that, since the series debuted over a decade ago, it has sold 175 million Call of Duty games.

The creator of Rock Band has vowed not to saturate the market with games when the franchise returns this year. Harmonix and Activision released over 30 different guitar-based games between 2005 and 2010, causing the market to become oversaturated and collapse. Rock Band 4 is now set to return this October, and widespread reports claim that Guitar Hero is also braced for a return. But Harmonix product manager Eric Pope has promised not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Its no secret that the band game space became really crowded, he told MCV. After leaving Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward, amid numerous allegations and lawsuits, Lead Designer Todd Alderman has return to the studio as Multiplayer Project Director, during this year ealier, Executive Producer Mark Rubin departed, Activision has confirmed. Rubins last Call of Duty game was Ghosts in 2013 which had mixed reviews. Alderman and 38 others were the ones who suied Activision when they fired Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella. They both went on to make Respawn Entertainment which produced Titanfall ( Once Exclusive for Xbox One ) and now the upcoming Titanfall Sequel for multiplatforms. Alderman went to work for Respawn upon leaving Activision, leaving in 2012 for a Game Designer role at Riot Games. And now hes back at Infinity Ward.
