Cev at Codec Moments writes:
"Developed by E-Line Media and Upper One Games, Never Alone isnt a game as such. Well, it is a game in the sense that you, the player, play some role in the progression of the storys events by facing challenges as they come, but Never Alone (also known as Kisima Initchua) is more akin to a documentary which uses the creative comfort of a video game as a framing device for its inherent message."

Avoiderdragon: Over the years, there have been artful games of different kinds, telling various stories set in both realistic and fantastical locations with a whole host of themes.

Not a perfect videogame by any measure, but a fascinating and unusual attempt at something legitimately new.

...
For those of you who dont know who Bayonetta is, shes a witch of the Umbra clan, and generally goes about kicking the asses of angels with demons and guns, which she has on her feet and hands. Guns as stilettos? Sure thing Platinum Games, sure thing. The basic premise of the story is that Bayonettas friend, Jeanne, gets sent to hell so she decides to rescue her. Along the way, she bumps into Loki who generally makes things a bit difficult, because both demons and angels seem a bit angry with him. Its a step forward from the first games amnesia based storyline but after The Wonderful 101, you cant help but feel that Platinum couldve wrote a better storyline for this game.

Paul from DJ Podcasts writes "Never alone is a puzzle based video game developed by Upper One Games and is based on the Alaskan indigenous stories. You play as a young girl named Nuna and joining also is a small white fox. Together, you set out on a journey to find the source of a blizzard that never seems to stop. When you begin your able to play as both Nuna or as the fox, and should you have a friend over, you can select co-op and work together which is great."

Paul James writes "Upper One Games Never Alone is an experience that will, like the winds of the game itself, sweep you away with its gorgeous visuals, crafty puzzles and an intriguing narrative. It doesnt achieve anything particularly revolutionary but provides a richly enjoyable, and at times challenging puzzle-platforming experience. There are some polish issues and the game is definitely best played with a friend on the couch but Never Alone will provide a rich 4 hour experience that will stick with you well after its conclusion."

Gamespot:
"Never Alone is a heartbreaking game, but not just because it's a particularly sad one. No, it's because the game's concept is admirable--a platformer steeped in the culture and folklore Native Alaskan Iñupiaq people--but the game itself is shabby. Included in Never Alone are short video vignettes comprising interviews with Iñupiaq elders, and beautiful footage of the real-world locations you visit; from these, it's clear that great respect was paid to Iñupiaq cultural touchstones and their translation into game mechanics. These videos are unlocked as you progress through the game, and do an excellent job of giving a cultural context to the level you are about to play. Never Alone has a genuine and honest desire for you to learn about these people, their way of life, and their methods of storytelling--and by the end of the game, you walk away with an appreciation for all three, but you resent the journey required to get there."
