Mike Bithell's reputation-making adventure comes to a real console, finally.
Curve Studios has announced an Xbox One version of Thomas Was Alone, Mike Bithell's "minimalist game about friendship and jumping and bouncing and anti-gravity", narrated by Danny Wallace - Dundee's greatest son, and the voice of Shaun Hastings from Assassin's Creed. If you want to see exactly how far gaming has come in 18 years, let's think back to the Nintendo 64, the groundbreaking console that went on sale in the U.S. on Sept. 29, 1996. To promote the upcoming console, Nintendo sent Nintendo Power subscribers a VHS tape because it was 1996 that featured a 15-minute commercial. IM PLAYIN take a look at Never Alone, an upcoming indie puzzle platformer. "There are a ton of great games at EGX London this year, and a fair few of them are the big releases of the next year. So I guess its a bit strange for me to say that Never Alone has stolen the show, for me at least. Yet despite all of the glitz and glamour of the triple A titles, I cant help but feel as though my heart has been snatched by a wonderful little game. Its not often that I get this passionate about a game, let alone an indie game for that matter. But, somehow, I have been wooed, mesmerised and downright impressed by Never Alone."
