Thank You For Sunday Releases, Nintendo

CCC says: "Thank you, Nintendo. By releasing your games on a Sunday, its allowed me to have the time to enjoy your titles. Thank you for releasing Animal Crossing on the Sunday during E3 week. My first stop before heading to the airport for my 7 AM flight from Dayton, Ohio to Los Angeles, California was a Wal-Mart, where I picked up your game and played it on the plane. Though, out of every possible game in existence, playing Animal Crossing on day one for a five-plus-hour plane ride was an awful idea. Seriously, there was very little I was able to do. But who cares, I had Animal Crossing available all week long. I could fight the lulls and lines by checking in with my towns villagers--all because Nintendo releases their games on Sunday instead of the traditional Tuesday."

Its a question that has plagued the denizens of the gaming community for over 13 years. The options range from both awesome and cute, to downright annoying and badass. However, lest you get harangued for picking Kirby for the umpteenth time, or stab and spin your way to victory via Link, there is always a character to play and another character to beat mercilessly. But regardless, with last weeks announcement of Mega Man, the Wii Fit Trainer and the Villager from Animal Crossing joining the fray in the new Super Smash Bros., we at Pixelitis cast our nets of imagination wide and far to find other suggestions for some awesome butt kicking. Being Black in Animal Crossing is Hard Work

Added: 20.06.2013 11:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is largely a game about leaving an impression. Whether you're creating your town in the sometimes dull single player or if you're visiting friends to see how they've built up their world, you can do so with a personality and charm that you yourself have created. In many ways, you can be whatever you want to be in New Leaf, unless you want to be black. Then your only option is to tan, tan, tan.

Nintendo is working on a free-to-play title by bringing back the Steel Diver concept and (assumably) making a bunch of game-bettering tweaks. But could this business model spread to much more popular franchises? Katsuya Eguchi, the lead designer of Animal Crossing: New Leaf had this to say in regards to the franchise: I think the [...]
