Summit, the Academy of Interactive Arts Sciences added a new category to its annual awards, noting that Apple's App Store would be the first recipient of its Technical Impact Award. The new award category is meant to "celebrate unique innovations that contribute to the ongoing progress of interactive media in all its forms, and celebrates technical achievements that are expanding and redefining our industry." The first Technical Impact Award will be presented to the App Store by Dr. Michael Capps, former Epic Games executive and member of the AIAS Board of Directors, during the 18th D.I.C.E. Keighley Confirms There Will Be a Game Awards 2015

Geoff Keighley officially announced over the weekend that there will be a 2015 version of The Game Awards, confirming the news on his Twitter.

"As I announced this morning at PAX," Keighley tweeted in reference to the inaugural PAX South this past weekend in San Antonio, "I'm excited to already be working on @thegameawards for 2015. Will share more later this Spring."
The first year of the show was streamed live online through several outlets from Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, and featured performances from Lindsey Sterling, Imagine Dragons, and Jamie N Commons. The night's awards culminated with Dragon Age: Inquisition earning top honors as Game of the Year.
