Pokkén Tournament May Not Be a Wii U Saviour, But It Can Provide a Welcome Boost

Added: 24.08.2015 12:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

Nintendo Life Ever since its announcement for the Japanese arcade scene Pokkén Tournament has been closely followed by Pokémon and fighting game fans. Unofficial efforts have often pitched 'mon against each other in crude efforts, but the flashy Bandai Namco-developed release caused quite an online buzz. Of course, its status as an arcade placed it into niche and unobtainable categories for many. Review: Pac-Man 256 (Apple iPhone) | Digitally Downloaded

DD: Damn it. Just as I was getting over my ridiculous obsession with Crossy Road, along comes Hipster Whale's follow-up. Pac-Mac 256 is proof of the impact that the tiny Aussie developer had on the industry, as Namco Bandai would allow it access to one of its most valuable franchise to essentially skin over as a sequel to Crossy Road. Unfortunately (for me), Pac-Man 256 is every bit as addictive as Crossy Road. There goes any hope I might have had to be productive in some way on every train trip I'll be taking for the next couple of months.

Pac-Man 256 provides endless pill-munching fun | GamesBeat

GB: Hipster Whale brought endless Frogger to its hit, Crossy Road, and it gives the same treatment to Pac-Man in Pac-Man 256. The concept is simple: Take a game with a simple arcade board and extend it into an endless, procedurally generated strip. Pac-Man thrives under this treatment, and a mobile platform seems perfect for its simple gameplay. Developed by Hipster and Bandai Namco Vancouver, published by Bandai Namco, Pac-Man 256 is available now free to play on iOS and Android (version reviewed).
