It has to be said that thanks to the wonderful storytelling, the outstanding performance of the cast and the simply wonderful design, Bioshock Infinite is a must play title. It may not be perfect, however every second you spend in clouds of Columbia will be time well spent.

As we brace for launch, we at the Cinematic Katzenjammer wanted to tried to think of a way to salute the upcoming release of the newest title to don the Bioshock name. What is one thing that can be said about both of the releases in the series, even if the second wasnt all that great? If there is one standard across each of the titles, it is that they absolutely, without a doubt, nail the mood and cinematic moments within the game. There is little in gaming like it, but when a title can give you the satisfaction of, not only, outstanding gameplay but coupled with an experience that is typically something only seen in the cinema; you know that youre in for a treat. WC: One of the most anticipated video games of the year, BioShock Infinite, finally hits stores early next week, and the early consensus seems to be that Irrational Games latest is without question the best in the franchise. Ironing out the few annoyances that plagued the previous games and adopting a vibrant new setting that keeps things fresh, Infinite keeps true to the BioShock name with its absorbing storytelling and thrilling action, while also evolving sufficiently so that players dont feel like theyre paying for the same experience. If BioShock 2 proved a slight disappointment largely due to Irrational Games lack of involvement this has been remedied for the best, and hopefully not last, entry into the series. Its a competitive year for gaming with the next-gen race gearing up, but here are 10 reasons why Bioshock Infinite just might be the game of the year.
