Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode One Review | Bag of Games

Josh from Bag of Games writes "A welcome return to Rapture (Andrew Ryans underwater libertarian paradise) moments before its inevitable collapse into a chaos-plagued dystopian metropolis featuring none other than Bioshock Infinites own intriguing protagonists, Booker Dewitt and Elizabeth; it was a promising reveal Irrational Games co-founder and creative director Ken Levine delivered to enthusiastic fans everywhere regarding Bioshock Infinites two-part story-driven DLC, Burial at Sea. And luckily, we didnt have to wait too long to determine whether Booker and Elizabeths latest adventure would sink or swim. With the first narrative segment finally releasing, we plunged headfirst into the murky, Splicer-infested waters of Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode One, and emerged soon after having endured a short, slightly flawed, but equally satisfying experience that no self-respecting fan of the series should dare miss."

| Speaking the unspoken truth about gender inequality in videogames

"Games are being increasingly developed by men and women with children, approximately half of whom are girls, and it shows. What happened to a time when games were the exclusive domain of lonely nerds who only knew about women through comic books and fantasy novel covers drawn by Boris Vallejo? When did Julie Strain stop being the ideal model of femininity? When did so many people not even know who Julie Strain is? I think about this every day as I play Tomb Raider and Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite and Gone Home and other critically acclaimed games that continue to marginalize men by portraying us as if we were only one part of the human condition, and maybe not even the main part, and often the less interesting part."

| Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1 Review [NoSleepGamer]
Added: 27.11.2013 13:17 | 2 views | 0 comments
NoSleepGamer writes: Despite really taking my time with Burial at Sea, I still finished it in three hours. For £11.99, thats a little short. My advice, if youre a big Bioshock fan, pick up the Season Pass for £15.99. This will get you the Clash in the Clouds arena DLC, some extra weapons, this episode of Burial at Sea and Episode 2 next year. Presuming Episode 2 is also going to be £11.99, the season pass gives you a decent saving. You can always wait until Episode 2 -where youll be playing as Elizabeth- lands to see what the verdict on that one is, but if its anything like Episode 1, itll be a an essential piece of the Bioshock legacy.
