The 'Watch Dogs' Delay And What Investors Don't Get About Video Games

Added: 19.10.2013 4:18 | 2 views | 0 comments

At this point, its a familiar story. A major release intended as a tent-pole franchise is delayed, and the shares of the publisher go tumbling. It happened with GTA 5, Bioshock Infinite, and now Watch Dogs. Ubisoft Stock fell more than 26 percent when the French company announced it would be delaying both Watch Dogs and The Crew into 2014. Unfortunatley for the skittish investors unloading their stock, this trend just shouldnt hold true for the games industry.

Why Do We Need Video Game Reviews?

Added: 17.10.2013 22:18 | 3 views | 0 comments

Dont be shocked by Thompsons first line: BioShock Infinite is the worst game of the year. As a stand-alone lead, the line might seem like a grand and original statement. It really isnt. Richard Goodness, a lesser-known critic, said this about Bioshock Infinite in a July article titled I Miss Interactive Movies: Bioshock Infinite is perhaps the worst videogame I have played all year. On top of this, GameSpot recently ran its second review of Bioshock Infinite. Written by Tom McShea, this review gave Bioshock Infinite a 4 out of 10. I say you shouldnt be shocked by any of this, but if youre used to mainstream video game reviewing, I cant blame you if you are shocked or, at the very least, inquisitive about the sincerity of negative Bioshock Infinite reviews. - Jed Pressgrove, Fate of the Game
