Hardcore Gamer: Good thing Respawn listened to their fans and brought back the highly innovative "sit around and wait for nothing to happen" game mode that was a big hit with people who loved Titanfall but also wanted to fall asleep. Fans of the mode were quick to point out, however, that if they wanted to sit around and wait for a match wasn't it their right to do so? And, more importantly, now that they identified a problem with the matchmaking for this mode couldn't they, oh, I don't know...fix it? Their solution to fixing the problem was to take the mode out behind a shed and beat it with a shovel, then drag its mangled body back out in front of its audience and proclaim, "Look! We fixed it!"

Titanfall : "What Happened to CTF? Last week we made some changes to the Titanfall playlists on PC and since then many members of the community have expressed their disappointment with our decision. Capture the Flag has been a specific point of contention considering we had just made a significant change to how the mode worked (Titans cannot carry flags after the last patch). If youre just catching up, we made the decision to remove these modes because hardly anyone was playing them and matches were nearly impossible to find."

"Respawn had several options when they realised that PC Titanfall players weren't playing much Capture The Flag or Pilot Hunter, leading to long wait times. They could have rebalanced the gameplay, perhaps, to make things more engaging. They could have released some quirky mode-specific burn cards to tempt us onto the playlists. They could have let us browse server lists on the PC version. However, they eventually decided on Order 66: cutting both playlists altogether unless you want to take your chances in Variety Pack mode."
