Kim at GameSpew writes: "Though not entirely unheard of, full motion video games this side of the 1980s arent exactly run of the mill. The release of Sam Baileys Her Story last month seems to have spurred on a new wave of FMV-based games, and frankly I couldnt be more excited. Having just playing through Baggy Cats Contradiction, dubbed the all-video murder mystery adventure, Im raring to discover more hidden gems of this ill-used gaming art form."

| Review: Luckslinger Is Brutally Difficult, Yet Novel | EGMR
Added: 13.08.2015 13:18 | 34 views | 0 comments
Bracken Lee-Rudolph from #egmr takes on Luckslinger - a hip-hop backed side-scrolling shooter where luck is a quantifiable resource.
Quote:
"The spaghetti western is a genre which hasnt always been given proper treatment in modern video games, away from Rockstars excellent Red Dead Redemption, which released in 2010, and a few bouts of flickering excellence from the older Call of Juarez games.
Luckslinger is a little indie title specifically a side-scrolling pixelated shooter which aims (from the hip) to do just that, with a slight bit of mysticism and a hip-hop infused soundtrack leading the way."

| Choshin Heiki Zeroigar for PC-FX Translated by Fans, Choshin What?
Added: 13.08.2015 9:18 | 14 views | 0 comments
Carl Williams writes, "Scrolling shooters are a staple of videogames. Dont believe me, just go look at the catalog of games from the first days of videogames. Asteroids was a shooter, so was Raid on Bungling Bay. Defender- yep. On the NES there were countless titles such as Gradius, Guardian Legend and more. Scrolling shooters in general are retrogaming and are going to be around in the future, that is for sure as indie and homebrew developers are picking up the slack left by the professionals. One console that was left in Japan and certainly not on the radar for most gamers in North America is the NEC PC-FX. Anyone remember this one? Anyone?"

| Bomberman Coming to the Colecovision via Homebrew Developers
Added: 13.08.2015 7:18 | 7 views | 0 comments
Carl Williams writes, "Bomberman was one of the few cross platform games of the 16-Bit generation that was also a great party game. You could grab a few friends, depending on the platform it was played on it could be more than 8, and you knew that you were going to have one hell of a night. Now thanks to homebrew developer Alekmaul we are now seeing a version of Bomberman coming to the Colecovision console. Keep in mind, the Colecovision dropped off the store shelves about 30 years ago, or so, unless you count those replay consoles that are somewhat popular nowadays. New games are welcome is what I am getting at just there may not be that many people with working hardware to enjoy them."
