The combat is fun and fluid with weighty weapons and clever abilities. The music is beautiful and the sound design screams perfection. Rod Fergusson knows Gears of War. After ten years at Epic Games he was as recognisable a front-man as Cliff Bleszinski or Marcus Fenix, and it was peculiar to witness the departure of all three from the previous title, Gears of War: Judgment. Fergusson moved to Irrational Games, helping to finish BioShock Infinite, and was rebuilding 2K's Marin studio in California when Microsoft bought the rights to Gears and tempted him back to the company, the franchise, and his homeland of Canada to head its new studio Black Tusk.

Hardcore Games - I like my avatar in Risen 3. He speaks with a slow, rasping British accent and drops f-bombs at the drop of a hata kind of street-wise, Cockney Clint Eastwood with no voice filter and a tricorn hat. Although Its not as if developer, Piranha Byes invention isnt about as stock as they come. He is. But the f-bombs and dopey pirate hat, in an open-world RPG? Thats kind of unique Id say. But, probably, I enjoy the character because I love the game. While not exactly ground-breaking, Risen 3 is a Piranha Byes title, which means, like British Clint Eastwood, its its own game.

Developed and published by Epic MegaGames (now known as simply Epic Games), a fandom quickly formed around the series. Original designer Cliff Bleszinski has long since moved onto other projects much to the dismay of fans. Enter a recently-launched Kickstarter campaign for Jazz Jackrabbit Revival. According to the page, Turbo Tech Games plans to create a brand new game in the series using the Unreal Engine and port it to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The page itself has some nice visual accompaniment and doesn't look inherently shady at first glance."
