Eurogamer: "Like a ride on one of its soaring skylines, the latter half of BioShock Infinite's narrative is a twisted and breath-taking race through the city of Columbia and beyond, moving on to expand the series' scope to a dizzying scale."

What if Columbia was created in Minecraft?

GameZone writes, "There's no denying the world that Irrational Games created in BioShock Infinite was beautiful. Visuals aside, the sheer size and detail put into the city of Columbia was breathtaking. From the concept of a floating city to the marvelous building architecture, Columbia has easily carved its spot as one of my favorite video game settings. Of course, to truly be considered a great setting, it must pass one very critical step: the Minecraft test."

BioShock Infinite Review (ITF Gaming)

William Mabin from ITF Gaming writes: Kevin Levine, the writer and creative director of Irrational Games BioShock series is a man who has come under some scrutiny. Many people have slammed the recently released BioShock Infinite for being racist. Others have been completely awestruck by the graphics and storyline of the game. The question is whether the seemingly magical city of Columbia in which the game is set stays aloft in its miraculous heavenly delight, or if it threatens to sink to the bottom of the sea?

Bioshock Infinite Review (ThisisXbox)

ThisisXbox writes: "1912 is not exactly a positive time in American history. As you will see plastered all over the game. Racist propaganda is littered all over the streets of Columbia. Youre introduced to this facet of the city almost immediately as you win a raffle. Your prize, you get to be the first to throw a baseball at a black and Irish interracial couple. This kind of subject matter may be a little touchy for some, but it does wonders in showing just the kind of evil mindset that Comstock is using to indoctrinate the citizens of Columbia. One of the most harrowing moments of the game sees you fly over a slave camp watching black and Chinese workers sing their troubles away. It could be seen as social commentary as segregation is a part of this highly religious world. Religion plays a huge role in the game. Every solitary citizen of Columbia is driven by a prophecy that has been seen by Zachary Comstock. But there are those that dont believe in the prophecy."

From the review: "BioShock Infinite is such a fun game with an incredible atmosphere. The long wait has been worth it and Irrational Games has done an incredible job at bringing Booker, Elizabeth, and Columbia to life."

MTV- Review: Bioshock Infinite

Added: 04.04.2013 3:18 | 0 views | 0 comments

MTV:"Bioshock Infinite" is certainly the most literate game of this generation (or really, that I've had the chance to play), blending pop culture, turn of the 20th century history, and science fiction together into a mash of a competent first-person shooter. But as well-sourced the Irrational Games' Creative Director Ken Levine's vision is, and as clever as its twists are, this journey to the floating city of Columbia suffers the same big budget malady of interesting worlds undercut by the thin characters that populate them.

ZTGD | BioShock Infinite (PC) Review

Ken McKown writes: I still remember how engrossing it was the first time I stepped into Rapture. The world drew me into its lore, showcased its history and told a million tales purely with excellent design. The world of Columbia recaptures this magic, and once again displays why the team at Irrational Games demand respect as developers. Jumping into BioShock Infinite I wasnt sure how it could possibly capture me the same way the original game did. Then, once I finished the campaign I sat back with grin on my face, realizing that once again, I had been captivated by an amazing narrative within a video game; something I cant claim often enough.

BioShock Infinite (360) | FTG Review

Added: 03.04.2013 7:20 | 0 views | 0 comments

FTG Writes: It is fitting that BioShock Infinites development story up to this point has been if nothing else, a question to gamers worldwide. The Irrational darling has been through its fair share of turmoil as its numerous delays and goodbyes got tallied up on an almost monthly basis. On top of that, expectations for the next entry in one of gamings greats are higher than Columbia itself. It wouldn't be the first time the gaming world would have seen a fractured development cycle tarnish something destined for greatness. This is not the case with BioShock Infinite. Irrationals newest hit manages to smash all expectations thrown before it, featuring a varied, fleshed out cast of characters on top of some truly unique gameplay, and more depth than Ive seen in most media, much less video games.
