Getting to Know Halos Agent Locke

Added: 15.11.2014 13:11 | 3 views | 0 comments

This week, Halo: Nightfall kicked off alongside the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The five-part digital feature brings viewers back to the fragment of the original Halo ring from the original Halo: Combat Evolved. Rather than Master Chief, however, the series centers around Agent Jameson Locke, a soldier who has the rather unenviable task of leading an assault to defeat the Covenant insurgency. Mike Colter is the actor who fills Lockes combat boots in Nightfall, and Locke will ultimately become a playable character and protagonist in next year's Halo 5: Guardians.

How Does Halo: Combat Evolved Stand Up to the Modern Competition?

GeekParty: "Theres no denying the impact that Halo: Combat Evolved had on the first-person shooter genre. In fact, it had a massive impact on gaming in general. Halo is responsible for much of the original Xboxs success. And the Xbox changed online gaming forever, thanks to Xbox Live. Without Xbox Live, who knows what online console gaming would look like these days. Halo: Combat Evolved is a pretty damn important video game. But it definitely feels dated in some areas..."

Assassin's Creed Rogue Review - Mouse n Joypad

Gale writes -"Of course, Assassins Creed Rogue also has its share of hitches that keep it from being truly brilliant. Ive mentioned the contextuality of player actions and the way freeform movement is way too sticky. Combat is the same as it always was too reliant on mindless blocking/countering. Loading times also kept me waiting longer than is acceptable a feat that reminded me what console Im playing the game on. Regardless of the now ancient hardware its running on, Rogue is looking absolutely magnificent with vast open levels and loads of objects on-screen at any given time. It really is dragging the last atoms of strength out of the old generation of consoles, and Id love to see it released on PC at least, if not on Xbox One and PS4. Assassins Creed Rogues greatest asset are its characters and the storyline, but also the fact that the game is filled to the brim with objects of interest if you know what youre looking for. "

Enemies swarm, overwhelm and always feel threatening. Combat is played out at such a pace that I really appreciated the ebb and flow of engagements - Writes Chris Purdy
