ZTGD | Titan One (Hardware) Review

Ken McKown writes: Controller preference has been a deciding factor on which console I buy games for more often than I care to admit. The Xbox 360 controller was near perfection, then along came the Dual Shock 4 and it almost re-invented the wheel. Still, there are certain genres of games I prefer to play with Microsofts offset stick layout. So many choices, so little compatability. That is until now. I got to play around with the Titan One, a USB device that lets players use just about any controller on the new machines,aAnd it is glorious. Playing Killer Instinct with a DS4, or Killzone with a 360 controller really changes the landscape.

Square Enix Updates 'Final Fantasy 6' With Controller Support And More

Added: 10.10.2014 11:12 | 9 views | 0 comments

TouchArcade: Square Enix has been slowly updating many of their old apps with controller support and various other fixes recently. Too slowly for some, I'm sure, but it's nice to see they're still making an effort to make sure classics like Secret Of Mana [$8.99] and Final Fantasy 3 [$15.99] are working as best as possible. Well, you can add one more to that list, because Final Fantasy 6 [$15.99] received an update out of the blue today that addresses some complaints about the controls, both for those with MFi controllers and those without.

GameCube Controllers Will Only Work With Smash Bros. Wii U

Wii U owners are getting GameCube controller support later this year, when the previously-announced adapter launches alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U this November.

Unfortunately however, it looks like support for the controller won't extend beyond Smash, as the Big N has clarified in a statement to GameSpot that the adapter will only work with Nintendo's upcoming brawler. "The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U is compatible with Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U specifically - it is not compatible with any other Wii U software."

The release date for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U was announced by Nintendo yesterday. It'll arrive on store shelves November 21. At that time you'll be able to purchase for yourself a GameCube controller adapter, and, if it's your sort of thing, a whole bunch of amiibo figurines.

Wii U GameCube Adapter Only Compatible With Super Smash Bros

Added: 08.10.2014 12:09 | 0 views | 0 comments

The GameCube controller adapter for the Wii U will not be compatible with any software other than the upcoming Super Smash Bros game, Nintendo has said.

Nintendo clarified the peripheral's lack of compatibility after it had mistakenly suggested it would work with other Wii U games that support the Pro Controller.

"The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U is compatible with Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U specifically - it is not compatible with any other Wii U software," Nintendo said in a statement issued to GameSpot.

"The adapter is also not compatible with Wii and we apologise for any confusion"
