In-depth Review: Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Electronic Theatre

Added: 04.06.2013 17:17 | 10 views | 0 comments

Despite having been a success story for Nintendo for over a decade, Animal Crossing remains an entirely unique prospect in videogames. Some might compare it to The Sims for a loose understanding of the open-ended nature of the videogame; others might suggest that it has common with Harvest Moon in that of its relaxed style of play. Truth be told, its very little like either of these titles: Animal Crossing is simply Animal Crossing, and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Review (GamingBolt)

"Having heard but tales of the Japan only Animal Crossing in my youth, I was there on day one to pick up the subsequent worldwide port to Gamecube in 2004. As the first time the series had launched in the west, it was a new and exciting brand of gameplay that appealed to my erratic teenage mind. Of course, being a bored youth at the time, I had a free enough calender for the game's real time clock to fit in well with my empty schedule. Playing New Leaf as an adult is an altogether different experience. The charm and new mechanics offer excitement and nostalgia in equal measure whilst being held back by how a game in real time clashes with adult commitments."

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Whenever I'm asked why I adore the Animal Crossing series, I find it incredibly tough to explain the appeal to someone who hasn't played it. After all, who would believe that the joy of collecting the last fossil in a set of dinosaur remains can evoke the raw thrill of winning a hard-fought group battle in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? Or that when a new shop opens in the town, it's as joyous a mo...

Added: 03.06.2013 21:18 | 11 views | 0 comments

Chris Buffa (Prima Games): Nintendo has embraced digital downloads through the 3DS eShop by releasing games the same day as retail to the delight of millions. Thankfully, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is no exception. The highly anticipated title debuts June 9, and players possess different options to purchase it. That said, there are benefits to going retail versus digital, and well help you make the choice that suits you.

The Animal Crossing: New Leaf Diaries - Day 26 In June, Nintendo will launch Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS. The Animal Crossing games have always had you live among a cosmopolitan microcosm of the animal kingdom, and used to leave you to lead a quiet life of luxury; plucking fruit, catching fish, and collecting furniture. But that's all changed. In New Leaf, you're made mayor of the village as soon as you step off the train, and m...
