Develop: Crytek has signed a major licensing deal with a mystery firm as part of its strategy to put the company on a more stabe footing following its troubles last year. Last year the firm went through well-documented financial difficulties as it struggled to pay staff in full and seemingly stay afloat. Following a turbulent few months, the company eventually released a statement claiming it had secured extra capital to carry on as a business, though this still came at the expense of its Nottingham studio.

VRFocus - Crysis developer Crytek placed a huge focus on virtual reality (VR) support for its CryEngine 3 at last week's Game Developers Conference (GDC). The company showcased a new demo titled Back to Dinosaur Island in which players take on the role of a baby tyrannosaurus rex. The company is clearly serious about the future of VR and will be prove as much when it launches VR support for all those working with its engine.
