In fact, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is the first game in the series where I found myself invested right from the get-go, which is strange considering that the pink, air-sucking protagonists first release on the Wii U is quite a conventional departure. Borrowing enormously from its 2005 Nintendo DS spiritual predecessor Kirby: Canvas Curse, Rainbow Curse is a genuinely charming and addicting experience that fully utilizes the Wii U GamePads touch screen, and made me realize how enjoyable a video game could be even with the simplest of mechanics who knew constantly drawing lines and tapping a screen would be this fun and intuitive? Hes been made of string, hes been dozens of tiny versions of himself, hes been a pinball, and hes probably been some other things that I could tell you about if I did my research. In his latest adventure, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Nintendos beloved pink swallowgoblin has become a malleable construct of clay. It doesnt matter why he is clay, he just is, and Im perfectly okay with that because it turns out clay is a fantastic look.
