MSS writes: Deadly Premonition is almost an even split between dreadful and masterful. Its effectiveness as an experience is highly subjective, but from a personal perspective it left a lasting impression on me and that hasnt happened in a very long time.

Its rare that a game comes along thats so stuffed with new ideas, and while Deadly Premonition doesnt have the budget to quite do them all justice, its well worth the (reduced) price of admission.

And some parts of it are much furiating than theyre worth, especially the endless driving and harsh quick-time events. But this game more than makes up for its last-gen looks and occasional gameplay hiccups by masterfully creating a genuinely creepy atmosphere with an absurdly comic flip side in a vast open world. Under the sometimes ugly facade is a polarizing masterpiece of bizarre niche gaming on par with anything SWERY65s idol Suda 51 has done. If anything, Deadly Premonition is much like Yorks beverage of choice. Like a strong coffee, it will leave a terrible taste in some gamers mouths, but those looking for a quick pick-me-up should at least give it a try. And then, there are countless others, such as myself, who end up not knowing what they could ever do without it. If you want a game thats out of the ordinary, dont hesitate to look at Deadl...
