Deadly Premonition: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Added: 17.07.2013 0:17 | 16 views | 0 comments

CG writes: After having read some positive things about Deadly Premonition in some reddit comments, I filed it away in my brain as a game I might check out some day. I didn't know much about it, other than some people seemed to think it was unique, and worth playing in spite of its flaws. Then a few weeks ago, I spotted a used copy at Gamestop, and decided to bite. As I put the case on the counter, the clerk asked me if I had played the game before. When I said I hadn't, he gave me a friendly warning which went something like this: "The graphics are bad, the controls are horrible, and the gameplay kind of sucks..., but the story is phenomenal." His statement turned out to be mostly correct.

Deadly Premonition Review Isn't that right, Zach? | XGN

Added: 16.07.2013 9:16 | 16 views | 0 comments

Despite itself, Deadly Premonition is one of the most unusual and amazing videogames ever released. It lacks the polish and big budget hallmarks of most modern classics, but makes up for it with sheer heart and one of the most gratifying and enjoyable game worlds out there. Gamers who prize the experience over the technical competency of a game will get an unbelievable amount of satisfaction from such an unusual title. There has never been any videogame like Deadly Premonition, and it's nigh-on impossible to decide whether this is a good or bad thing. After all, what other videogame sees you battling a transvestite inside a clocktower, or discussing the unsanitary use of female skulls as urine receptacles over lunch?

Ezine Articles writes: Even with its annoyances and less than average graphics, I'm still glad I played The Director's Cut. The script and much of the dialogue are the greatest aspects of the game. See through its glaring weaknesses, and you'll be glad that you spent time in Greenvale, attempted to solve the Raincoat murders!
