TheHDRoom: "Deadpool is an incredibly fun game that will appeal to most adolescent males, some cool females, and Marvel Comics fans in general. It is well written, action-packed, and looks gorgeous, but it's not a game for small children, and probably not for mature adults. Fart and dick jokes can only go so far.
Other than all that, it's a nice package from High Moon Studios (who nailed the recent Cybertron-based Transformers games), and they are quickly becoming an "it" studio for Activision. They beg to have eyes on as they continue to churn out great games based off of established properties."

MTV:In the Marvel Universe, Deadpool plays an odd role. As a mutate, he isn't quite a mutant. As a mercenary, he doesn't really align with any particular group, although sometimes he does. As a character, he's unstable and constantly breaks the fourth wall. Since his introduction in 1991, he's been an anomaly, and because of that, he has become one of the most beloved characters to ever have their own comic. Now, 22-years after his first appearance, the "Merc with the Mouth" joins the ranks of other AAA comic legends like Wolverine, Superman, Spider-Man, and Batman, and finally has his own self-titled video game.

| Why Can't Comedy Games be Funny to Play?

Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw writes, "Sometimes I say things straight from my heart that I need to go back and examine more closely from a more analytical perspective. Like a conservative politician blurting out how much he loves the cock. In my Deadpool review, I said that for all the wacky dialogue and silly stuff going in the cutscenes, it's not married terribly well with the gameplay, which is utterly standard hack-and-slash in utterly standard environments. But I had to ask myself - what kind of gameplay WOULD suit a comedy action game?"
