Game Guys review - Dungeons Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara

N10GG: "Video gamers like me who are in their (very) early 30's might recall playing coin-op games such as Dungeons Dragons: Tower of Doom or Dungeons Dragons: Shadow over Mystara at their local pizza joint or mall arcade. Lord knows I've spent a fair amount of time (and a bunch of my parents' quarters) at Pistol Pete's Pizza in Las Vegas doing just that."

EpicDome: Dragon's Crown Review

The Illusive Man says:"Here I was playing Dungeons Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara when all of a sudden here comes a new challenger! Perfect timing! As I was just wondering what the game would look like with an HD makeover, -depth gameplay, and ridiculously endowed female character classes. Whos the challenger that wants to be champion of the fantasy side-scrolling beat em up world, you ask? Dragons Crown, the newest game from publisher Atlus and developer Vanillaware. A visually stunning new entry into the genre that aims to be nostalgic while improving on traditional gameplay."

Tiny Tinas Tumultuous Trek: Emotional Resonance in Borderlands 2

Added: 20.08.2013 18:19 | 2 views | 0 comments

"Recently, I made my way through Gearboxs latest Borderlands 2 DLC, Tiny Tinas Assault on Dragons Keep. I did this despite long ago putting the game on the proverbial shelf of my Steam account, based mostly on the overwhelming positive reactions that it has received by everyone all over the Internet. They praised its inventive references to Dungeons and Dragons, its wealth of new enemies to fight, and its character moments. After playing it, I can only agree with one of these sentiments. The normal assortment of skags and bandits have been replaced by skeletons, zombies, spiders and mages, basically the bare minimum if youre going to base a game on table top tropes. There were no Beholders or Bugbears to be found on the main quest line, and the whole thing felt like a generic fantasy setting with dice thrown everywhere. It makes me wonder how much actual DD the Gearbox crew has played." - Alex Santa Maria of Geekenstein

Borderlands 2 Tiny Tinas Assault on Dragon Keep (PC) | FTG Review

Added: 19.08.2013 12:19 | 3 views | 0 comments

FTG Writes: Roll for Initiative Lets start this off with me saying one thing: I dont like Tiny Tina. I never thought she was funny. I found her character irritating and pointless, and I consider her presence in Borderlands 2 to be the worst part of the game. I still do. However, Tiny Tinas Assault on Dragon Keep has made me love this incarnation of the character (Ill still despise her in the main game), partly because theres a tragic tone to the character that we get to visit here. Oh, you thought this was going to be just a bunch of meta jokes and Dungeons Dragons references? Well, too bad. Thats the other 99% of the DLC. That little 1% is occupied by some rather heartbreaking (and in turn, heartwarming) moments in relation to the main games climactic battle. There arent any spoilers to be had in this review, but the DLC itself is full of them; finish the main game before trying your hand in Tiny Tinas Assault on Dragon Keep.

Added: 16.08.2013 22:19 | 6 views | 0 comments

Have you ever played a pen and paper RPG? Dungeons Dragons is the ultimate game of its kind and passionate players of all ages for years and years. Although there are currently many video games that recreate all this and more with graphics last generation, none of them can match the magic of sitting at a table with friends adventures just using a pen and paper. That is, until Knights of Pen and Paper Edition + 1 have appeared. Knights of Pen and Paper Edition + 1 puts us in control up to five adventurers and Master simultaneously chooses to perform the missions, events unfolding and enemies to face. This is all presented with a table always present with the participants sitting around a fantastic style 2D pixelated.
