Knife of Dunwall: Dishonored DLC (360) | FTG Review

Added: 21.04.2013 7:18 | 22 views | 0 comments

FTG Writes: The bizarre story of magic infused whales and steampunk assassins continues in Arkane Studios downloadable content for Dishonored with the games first storyline expansion pack, The Knife of Dunwall. While priced to sell at $10, is it worth your time and energy? Back to Dunwall Dishonoreds: The Knife of Dunwall DLC is a storyline that runs parallel to the story of the games main protagonist, Corvo Attano. Following the footsteps of Dunwalls Assassin King, Daud, the game takes place almost simultaneously with the events of the original Dishonored, complete with a scene showing Daud and his men murdering the Empress and stealing away with her daughter Emily. While Corvo is breaking out of prison from being wrongfully accused of assassinating the Empress, Daud, the man who sets Corvo up to take the murder rap feels remorse for the killing.

GameTrailers: "The Knife of Dunwall shows how well Dishonored, or any big budget game, can work well in a smaller, timate scale, hitting a trifecta of familiar, new, and different, while offering up small perspective changes that cast the slightest of uncanny glows for those who would don the assassin's mask and dance with Outsider."

Forbes - Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall DLC Review

Forbes - At its best, DLC scratches an itch. Its for the game that you played halfway to death, explored every dark corner of every room, and came to one more time after that. Its for the player who just needs one more moment to spend in an exquisitely crafted game world, and there was no game for which I wanted that 2012 than Dishonored. A few months ago, Arkane gave us an inscrutable set of mini-challenges as the first set of DLC, and now were back with a

CVG - Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall DLC review: Mostly brilliant

CVG - The whales are the stars of The Knife of Dunwall, Dishonored's first story-led DLC. As Corvo we'd catch glimpses of them in the distance, strung up on huge ships; here, playing as master assassin Daud, we finally see the great beasts up close - and it's not a pretty sight.

VideoGamer: "A very impressive new slice of Dishonored. With Daud's story left on a cliffhanger, we hope Arkane keeps up this form with the next installment."

GR-UK writes: "Overall I must say I appreciate the approach Arkane Studios has taken with this expansion. It tweaks the formula slightly, but doesn't feel like much of downgrade from the main campaign. It expands and adds to the universe already in place, yet it also feels like a vital part of the main story given the involvement of The Outsider and Daud's role in the assassination. It's a little frustrating that we're left waiting for the conclusion, but hopefully it won't be long until The Brigmore Witches sees release."

CheatCC says: "Dishonored fans that were disappointed by Dunwall City Trials can't be blamed for feeling skeptical towards the game's second DLC pack, The Knife of Dunwall. Im happy to report that this time we're getting a real expansion to Dishonored's campaign, rather than a mini-game compilation. If you loved playing Dishonored, this is the DLC you've been waiting for."

Polygon: "The Knife of Dunwall is almost exactly what it needs to be. Familiar without feeling the same, comprehensible but more demanding. "The Knife of Dunwall" artfully builds onto Arkane's world, even if it shares some of the fictional and design difficulties of its foundation and the most exciting thing about it is what it promises for the continuing story of Dunwall."
