Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches review: 'craft work | Polygon

Added: 14.08.2013 20:19 | 36 views | 0 comments

Polygon: "The Brigmore Witches ignores the tension and build-up that its predecessor established, both narratively and mechanically. Instead of continuing from where Knife left off tonally, Brigmore starts a few feet back and to the left, and it suffers until it manages to find design ideas to call its own. Brigmore does serve as a functional end to Dishonored, and there are worse things than to feel like just more of one of the best games of 2012. But after the consistent, clever redefinition of The Knife of Dunwall its disappointing to see this final chapter take so long to find itself."

Elder Geek: "If youre a Dishonored fan we can recommend Brigmore Witches to practice your digital ninjitsu. Its wonderful to see this dark tale told from the other perspective. We do wish, however, that it was a bit on the longer side especially for that price tag. If you happen to find Brigemore Witches bundled with The Knife of Dunwall for a discount, its a good buy. But as it is, its enough to hold us over until our wishes come true and Dishonored 2 is announced."

Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches Review | ScrewAttack

ScrewAttack: "You can close out Daud's side story in an afternoon, as I played through The Brigmore Witches with a decent amount of hunting down runes and bone charms in about four hours at the price of $9.99. If you combine that with The Knife of Dunwall, also currently priced at $9.99, you have a pretty fun 6 to 8 hour adventure for a hair under twenty bucks. Dunwall has been a deep and disturbed city since Daud sent it into a tailspin in Dishonored, and his quest to set things as right as he can before Corvo comes for him has been an enjoyable ride with its own twists and turns. Like The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches is definitely worth picking up for anyone who enjoyed Dishonored."

GR: The Brigmore Witches is the conclusion of the Daud storyline we were introduced to in Knife of Dunwall for Dishonored. Although your saved game info from the previous installment can factor into your chaos level going in, you dont have to play Knife of Dunwall in order to play this DLC. It can be played as a standalone installment, but the downside is that you will be missing out on a big chunk of Daud's storyline and you'll have to fill in the pieces with your imagination.

The Brigmore Witches, continue your journey as the legendary assassin, Daud, and bring his twisted narrative that began with The Knife of Dunwall to a close. After discovering the identity and intentions of Delilah, the leader of the Brigmore Witch coven, you set out to disrupt her from completing a powerful ritual that will spell your doom. Having already been betrayed by your lieutenant, Billie Lurk, you must rely on feuding gang factions - the Dead Eels and the Hatters - to negotiate your way through previously unseen districts of Dunwall en route to Delilah's stronghold. Regardless of the way you reach your destination, one thing is for certain - you will finally answer for your treacherous actions and fall before the mercy, or punishment, of the Royal Bodyguard and Assassin, Corvo Attano. Additionally, your power, weapon and item upgrades, Chaos level, and player actions from The Knife of Dunwall will carry over via a compatible save file option.
