Review: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (New Gamer Nation)

Added: 11.11.2013 22:21 | 0 views | 0 comments

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag is a very ambitious game. All the details that surfaced around the launch of the game seemed to indicate that this was going to be a departure for the series. We learned that this game will take place in the early 1700s while Assassins Creed III took place in the late 1700s, we found out that this game will not include the main protagonist of all four previous games; Desmond Miles, we even learned that the game is going to focus on the naval aspects of Assassins Creed III. All those facts point to a game that is trying to buck the trend and be something different. In some ways the game succeeds but offering players a vast amount of area to explore and engage with. In other ways, this game fails to capture the traditional Assassins Creed feeling that the others games held. However, the question on everyones mind is; Is this game any good?

Assassin's Creed is holding back the potential of the 'Black Flag' theme. Here's why I'd love to see the pirate game get its own spin-off series that ditches all the AC lore and just focuses on badass piracy.

(WGB) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Review

Added: 11.11.2013 12:17 | 1 views | 0 comments

Baden of WGB writes: "With Assassins Creed III failing to impress many critics and gamers alike, and with Desmond now firmly out of the way, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag was Ubisofts chance to take a step back and examine what theyve done right and what theyve done wrong. Its an opportunity they seem to have grasped with a fervor, and in the process have managed to craft what Im going to boldly declare the best game in the franchise to date, and the greatest pirate game we have ever had."

Black Flag takes what many gamers, enjoy about Assassins Creed III and explodes it all over the place. I am talking about the rare sea missions. Here, in Black Flag, players find themselves with a ship and nothing but the open sea, beckoning them to come and do what they will. Attacking other ships, nicking cargo, hell, even hunting is all done with a flair of dramatic we all associate with being a pirate. However, it is not just the simple acts that are rewarding here. Rather how it feels when you do them.
