Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Review | Clickonline.com

Clickonline writes: "Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag is a big, brutal slice of interactive history, taking the increasingly slick elements which have become a part of the series and slapping them into a massive sea-faring adventure. Its a little rough around the edges at times but the addition of piracy to the leaping and stabbing of the franchise adds some much needed personality. So dive into this ambitious new world, just turn off those sea shanties first!"

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - GR Review

Damnation seize my soul if I give your quarters, or take any from you.

The hypothetical "" rivalry has been a gaming meme on Internet forums for nearly a decade. Maybe it's that ninjas and pirates are both cool but in completely opposing ways. Maybe it's the "West vs. East" idea. Maybe it's about letting our imagination run wild. Maybe it's me, the lone resident ninja, being surrounded by all sides by pirates collectively known as GameRevolution. But this enduring battle rejects the possibility, however blasphemous it may be, that both sides can let bygones be bygones, become unlikely allies, and conquer the world as the almighty, all-fearing ninja pirates they were meant to be. That might sound ridiculously impossible, but Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag would prove otherwise.

Review: Assassin's Creed IV | Dracula's Cave

DC - "Assassins Creed IV is the fifth Assassins Creed game in five years, pretty crazy right? But whilst some of the past entries gained notoriety for offering little variation in character and setting, Black Flag takes to the seas with astounding ambition, and proves to be as much of a step forward for the series as Assassins Creed III was last year. This latest title removes a few of the previous games most notable flaws, keeps a few, and adds a couple of new ones, all whilst retaining the signature Assassins Creed gameplay."

Flawed yet addictive, Assassin's Creed may be in need of a change.

Many nautical miles better than Assassin's Creed 3, Black Flag is somewhat of a return to form for a franchise stalled. For all its renewed appeal, however, it still suffers from being based on systems and mechanics that looked tired in 2009. It may be on next-generation systems, but this is last generation's game.

Grumpy old Connor Kenway has given way to his grandad, Edward, who's responsible for more piracy than Kim Dot Com. His drive isn't revenge, nor legacy or destiny: it's money, and is all the better for it. His flippant attitude fits nicely with the jaunty, sun-drenched...
