Despite this problem Shay Cormac is one of the best characters the series has seen, and his journey throughout Rogue was excellent. This was one of the few times in the series I wanted the story to continue, I wanted to keep exploring the Templar order and continue to see Shay deal with conflicted ideals."

Black Flag came along with a drastic but very welcome change to the usual city-scaling and face-stabbing formula in the form of naval warfare. Taken from Assassins Creed 3 and expanded, the piracy aspect of Black Flag was excellently realised and breathed a new life into a formula that had begun to grow a little stale. It seems a little strange that Ubisoft have dropped the ships entirely for the first current generation only entry in the series then, instead focusing on a huge, dense recreation of Paris with gameplay far more similar to that found in previous games with significant improvements."

Even though I was strict on tackling the main story missions, I still to this day I havent found the time to completed it. But like Christmas, another Assassin's Creed is just around the corner, and this year brings two! Ben Salter of MMGN: For all my negatively and this is a very lazy game I could have copy and pasted my very positive Black Flag review, replaced Kenway with Cormac and altered the setting, and Id have done almost exactly what Ubisoft Sofia has. From an objective standpoint, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, but only if you havent played Unity, which enhances everything more than it has been given credit for by the masses, and are willing to play through exactly, and I mean exactly, the same thing as last year. That means it's only for the most hardcore of Assassins Creed fans, or those weirdos without a current-gen console or PC who ideally havent played Black Flag but in that case, they might as well just play Black Flag.

But if you've played Black Flag and were hoping for more of the same, you will be disappointed. While Rogue builds on the same foundation, it is all too obvious that it's the B-team that has developed this game. If you still haven't played Black Flag that's a way better experience as Assassin's Rogue never really fires on all cylinders."

Aside from an engaging narrative, that gives us an intriguing look at the Templar/Assassin conflict from the opposite side, Rogue doesnt really deliver us much that is new. A good game but only one I can recommend to the lovers of Assassins Creed lore, if not, then maybe just replay Black Flag or go get Unity."
