Assassin's Creed: Rogue Review - VideoGamer

Added: 15.11.2014 6:11 | 5 views | 0 comments

VideoGamer writes: "Rogue isnt quite the full-fat follow up to Black Flag that I wanted it to be, but its also not the throwaway, B-team release that I was dreading either. Its somewhere between a sequel and an extended epilogue, unapologetically stuffed full of fan service, and works as a love letter to games gone by; one that bridges the gap between sagas old and new. If you care about the Assassins Creed universe, its well worth your time some may even consider it essential but for casual fans and newcomers, theres nothing here that Black Flag doesnt already offer."

CGM Reviews: Assassins Creed Unity

Added: 15.11.2014 3:11 | 9 views | 0 comments

Jake Writes: "I jumped into Assassins Creed Unity hoping for a change in a structure so tired and true that I chose to skip Black Flag rather than play through one more historical fiction game full of parkouring, assassins, and a confusing, modern-day plot with little to no relevance. A new console generation could have given Ubisoft the chance to reinvent the series with a new protagonist, plot, controls, and mechanics, and while Unity does deliver on these fronts, it does so in a sloppy, buggy, and only half-realized way."

The Decline of Ubisoft

Added: 14.11.2014 23:11 | 13 views | 0 comments

OnlySP: The past couple of years have been good for Ubisoft. Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag was received to both critical and commercial acclaim at the end of last year, and at the same time the hype for Watch Dogs was approaching the stratosphere, as well as for South Park: The Stick Of Truth. PC gamers were back on board after their ridiculous always-on DRM was canned. And last but not least: not one but two new Assassins Creed games were planned for 2014 the series which was Ubisofts cash cow by a mile. A year later the wheels seem to be falling off somewhat so what happened?

Assassin's Creed Rogue Review: Templars and Déja Vu | Gamer Headlines

Added: 14.11.2014 19:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

Gamer Headlines writes: Assassins Creed: Rogue is a hard game for me to analyse and break down. Part of me embraces the fact that it is mechanically identical to any other AC game that came before, but I also wish it would be more than just that. You see, Rogue is an extremely safe bet for Ubisoft as it uses the same groundwork introduced with last years Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag with a huge emphasis on naval exploration and travelling from island to island, yet, other than its different take on the entire Assassins vs. Templars narrative template, it doesnt have anything significantly interesting or relatively new that will keep you invested during its 6 hour long story, or 20-30 hours if you plan on accomplishing everything the game has to offer. While playing through Rogue, all I kept asking myself was: Has the Assassins Creed franchise run its course, or am I just tired of playing the same game from Ubi every year now? Although Rogue isnt a breakthrough in the Action...
