Ubisoft picks up Hasbro license for next-gen games

Assassin's Creed publisher to develop and publish current- and next-gen console games based on franchises like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Battleship. 
Ubisoft and Hasbro today announced a new partnership that will allow the Assassin's Creed publisher to develop and publish current- and next-generation games based on board game franchises like Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Risk, Battleship, and Cranium.
"We look forward to collaborating with Ubisoft to offer consumers innovative new ways to experience their favorite gaming brands," Hasbro SVP and GM of digital gaming and corporate development Mark Blecher said in a statement.
Ubisoft SVP of sales and marketing Tony Key added that the French publisher is "thrilled" to have the opportunity to create console games based on the company's brands.
Ubisoft did not announce any new Hasbro games today.
Ubisoft is not the only rights-holder for Hasbro games. Electronic Arts last month a new four-year partnership with the company for mobile games, while Activision continues to hold the rights for the Transformers series.

Developer Harebrained Schemes prototyping gameplay and mission ideas for Berlin campaign; Linux and multi-languaged versions in the works. 
Shadowrun Returns will be getting new downloadable content starting with a campaign titled Berlin.
According to from developer Harebrained Schemes, the DLC will be out late October. "Development of Berlin art is already underway, and our design team is also starting to prototype gameplay and mission ideas for the Berlin campaign," the announcement stated.
The developer will be working on a Linux version of the game; they have not announced a release date yet. They will also be working on Spanish, Italian, German and French language versions, which is due early October.
Shadowrun Returns is out on PC. The RPG for its cyberpunk world, combat and skill, while it was panned for its save system, linear structure, and simplicity of exploration.
