A fresh, 2D entry in the Prince of Persia series is in the works at Ubisoft, according to a new report.

French outlet Portail du Jeu Video (via Videogamer) claims that this new Prince of Persia title will make use of the UbiArt Framework, the same gorgeous engine that powers last year's hit platformer Rayman Legends as well as the upcoming ethereal RPG Child of Light.

Ubisoft has declined to comment on the report, but with E3 fast approaching, there's a good chance we'll hear more about the rumored title very soon—that is, of course, if the game is even in development.
